Tapes for the glass industry
Conveyor belts for the glass industry
The Conveyor belts for the glass industry They are used in hollow glass manufacturing processes and others, especially for annealing arches, decoration tunnels, verification and packaging transport, etc. They usually correspond to our type A1 (tapes with alternating turns left and right and wavy rods), with welded edges.
We make the Conveyor belts With round or laminated spiers thread, being able to achieve a great flatness in the shape of the spiral to avoid excessive vibrations during the transport of the goods (bottles, glasses...).
Codina can also manufacture this type of tape on other materials on demand.

Materials for conveyor belts in the glass industry
Basically the following materials are used depending on the conditions of the process:
Steels to CR
Suitable for processes whose execution temperature is between 500 and 600°C. These materials, however, can work in good condition up to 700°C. The presence of SI and MO in its composition give them a very considerable resistance to oxidation and wear.
AISI 304/18-8/1.4301
Being an austenitic stainless steel, with 18% Cr and 8% Ni, this material has excellent resistance to breakage and oxidation, being able to work with all its properties up to approx. 800°C.
Benefits of metal mesh for conveyor belts in the glass industry
- Heat resistance: Metal mesh can withstand high temperatures, which is crucial for transporting molten and hot glass.
- Durability: Metal meshes are robust and can handle the weight and abrasive conditions of the glass.
- Ventilation: Openings in the mesh allow for better ventilation and cooling of glass.
- Versatility: They can be used in a wide range of applications from hot glass transport to cooling and inspection.
- Ease of cleaning: Metal meshes are easy to clean and maintain, which helps maintain high standards of hygiene and quality.
These applications and benefits highlight the importance of metal meshes in the efficiency and quality of processes in the glass industry.
